Make the most of your stay
There is no end of things to do at the camp in winter, with excellent skiing and snowmobiling opportunities nearby. The lake usually ices over around the turn of the year, opening up glorious opportunities to walk, fish, skate and even play ice hockey in pristine surroundings. The camp becomes a cozy haven where long evenings center around the impressive stone fireplace as friends and family warm themselves after a day of outdoor adventures.
Ski at Sugarloaf.
The Camp lies a 45 minute drive away from Sugarloaf Mountain, which is the second largest ski resort east of the Mississippi.
Based in the Carrabasset Valley, Sugarloaf offers nordic and alpine skiing, snowshoeing, dog sledding and fat biking. The resort has 1,240 acres of skiable land and 160 runs.

Ski at Sunday River.
Sunday River ski resort is a 45 minute drive west towards New Hampshire. It has 870 acres of skiable area and 131 runs.
A great place for expert skiers and known for its dependable snow, Sunday River has some of the most diverse terrain in the Eastern United States.

Ski local at Titcomb.
Titcomb Hill is our local ski resort in Farmington.
It’s family friendly and great for beginners. It has two t-bars, night skiing and cross-country skiing.
Fun fact! It’s named after the owners of Camp Liberty’s ancestors.
Skate.
Make the most of the frozen lake and walk, skate and even play ice hockey to fresh sunny days and stunning sunsets.
Hunt.
Hunting season (deer and bird) picks up as fall turns to winter, ending around mid-December.

Fish.
Ice fishing is a popular sport on the lake, with opportunities to catch brook trout, lake trout and landlocked salmon. Anglers can also expect to find yellow perch, pumpkinseed, and smallmouth bass.
The ice fishing is particularly good in the area near the Clearwater Pond Dam.

Snowmobile.
There are some excellent snowmobiling trails near the camp and we regularly receive parties who come to enjoy this activity.
Get cozy.
Then, when the day is done, guests can return to a warm and cozy camp for a hearty meal.
Long evenings are spent gathered round in the large sitting room enjoying games, jigsaw puzzles and the belting heat of the large ornate stone fireplace.
